José studied Computer Science in Berlin, Germany. He worked as developer, tester and test manager. In his 25+ years career he worked first for the government (Police, Justice) and also for a well-known consulting firm.
In 1998 José founded Díaz & Hilterscheid offering project management and testing services. In 2004 he founded an off-shore software development company in South America together with a partner. Díaz & Hilterscheid nowadays is organizing the Agile Testing Days, Agile Testing Days USA, Agile Testing Days Netherlands and Agile Testing Days Scandinavia.
José was the editor of Testing Experience and Agile Record. He is one of the creators of the training courses Certified Agile Tester, Certified DevOps Foundation, Certified Mobile Application Professional. He is the president of the Spanish Software Testing Board and member of the ISTQB.
